Derbyshire Open Art Competition 2012 winners

A Quarried Landscape by David Walker

Find out more about the winners of the prestigious Derbyshire Open Art Competition 2012.

The Derbyshire Open 2012 Winner was 'A Quarried Landscape' by David Walker Barker.

David Walker Barker is a recognised artist whose work is rooted in geology and his fascination in places rich in fossil and mineral formations. Importantly the quarried and mined environment provides a visual theme for art work that reflect both the structure complexity of geological processes, and the cultural and industrial dimension of their impact upon the landscape and in particular the people who toiled in those industries.
