Frances Bush

Home of Frances Bush and suggested location for her plaque

Frances was a lace manufacturer in Long Eaton, part of the world famous centre for the Nottingham Lace industry. She took over the business when her husband died aged 32 and she continued to manufacture lace until at least 1901.

Frances died aged 64, having also brought up 7 children as a widow. She was a remarkable woman for her time, when few women were leaders in industry. She is buried in Long Eaton Cemetery.
