Booking onto sessions
Where sessions require families to book, please contact the children’s centre.
Working with disabilities
Let us know if any of your family has any additional needs or disabilities that you think may prevent you from accessing any of our services. We'll work with you to ensure that our services become accessible and suited to your needs. It’s important to us that you feel you have an equal opportunity to receive services.
Parents have a say
Each children’s centre in Amber Valley has an advisory group made up of members from a wide range of agencies such as Job Centre Plus, health and schools. We're keen to have parents on this group to help develop and work on an annual plan of services for the children’s centre to focus on.
Centres also hold parent’s forums which gives parents and carers an opportunity to help shape the services offered by their children’s centre. The parents forum is a relaxed and friendly environment where having your say, really can make a difference to what’s happening at the centre. The parents forum will forward agenda items for the advisory groups to discuss.
Free childcare is available whilst the two-hour meeting takes place and full support is given to parents. Please contact your children’s centre if you are interested in joining us.
School holiday activities
Look out for the leaflets and flyers with details of our activities for families throughout the school holidays. Keep boredom at bay!
Signposting and support
As well as all the activities listed for each area, children’s centres can offer families support individually and link or signpost to lots of other services such as Job Centre Plus, housing, health, alcohol advice and more.
Please check with your local centre as most will be closed on bank holidays.
