Derbyshire Skills Festival

The skills festival is the largest careers information and guidance event for young people in Derbyshire.

Derbyshire Skills Festival is the largest careers information and guidance event for young people in Derbyshire, with more than 10,000 people visiting in 2018.

It was a chance for young people aged 13 to 19 to find out about their options and make the right choices for their future.

The festival included three events, two of which were held in Derby at the Pride Park Stadium and Chesterfield at the Proact Stadium.

Young people and their parents and carers met representatives from colleges, sixth forms, apprenticeship providers, universities and employers.

Derbyshire County Council YOUTHINC careers advisors were on hand to speak to young people about the options open to them.

There were also a number of ‘have-a-go’ sessions to try out a new skill in engineering, media, hair and beauty and much more.
