Loans have to be paid back but repayments don't start until April 2016 and you won't have to pay anything back until you earn more than £21,000 a year. The loan doesn't depend on your income and there are no credit checks. If you would like more information on applying for a loan, please visit the Student Loans Company (opens in a new window).
*This is being expanded in 2016/17 and the loans will be available for those aged 19+ to study at Levels 3-6.
