Cancellation of learning sessions
In the event of bad weather we'll try to keep our centres open and classes running where safe and practicable. We'll try to keep you informed as much as possible and will attempt to notify you as soon as possible if your class is cancelled. This might be by phone, email or text message. If a centre is closed, this will also be added to our snow information and to Facebook.
If you are an apprentice, you will need to contact your workplace manager for further advice.
We ask learners not to take unnecessary risks when considering travelling in poor weather conditions. Where a class has to be cancelled, we will try to make alternative arrangements so you do not lose any learning hours, such as adding a session to the end of the term or course.
Disabled access
We provide parking spaces for 'blue badge' holders. We make every effort to ensure that our centres and courses can be accessed by those with mobility or physical access needs.
Mobile phones
Please switch of your mobile phones at all times during a session. If, in exceptional circumstances, you are unable to do this please let your tutor or assessor know this before the start of a session and put your phone on silent mode.
Parking
Different parking arrangements are available at different centres. Where possible we provide parking for learners. Or we can signpost you to other appropriate public parking near to our centres. Please ask in centre for details.
Personal property
We do not accept responsibility for the loss of, or damage to, the personal property of learners whilst attending courses.
Reading lists, text books and materials
Your tutor will offer advice in relation to any items you may need to support your studies and it is your responsibility to provide these items. In certain circumstances you may be able to get financial help to meet some of these costs. Ask your tutor or centre staff for further information.
Refunds
We do not reimburse students who withdraw from a course other than in exceptional circumstances. In these instances we must be notified not less than 14 days before the course starts and a £10 administration charge may be levied. Transfer between courses may be possible at our discretion and again we may charge the £10 administration fee.
Our course fees are based on a minimum number of learners. If we do not reach this level of participants we may cancel a course or ask students to pay extra to enable the course to run. If we are unable to run a course under these circumstances, we will refund learner fees, or offer a free transfer to another suitable course. We cannot give refunds for student holidays.
Smoking
We operate a non-smoking policy inside our centres, outreach venues and surrounding grounds.
