Access to nursing and allied health professions

Successful completion of this course will give you the necessary amount of credits to apply for a place at university on a nursing or health related degree.


You'll be prepared with the knowledge and skills to study at a higher level.

This access diploma course is ideal for students over 19 who would like to study nursing, midwifery, paramedic science or other allied health professions at degree level but do not have the required qualifications to progress directly to go to university.

You'll study:

  • human biology (30 graded credits)
  • health studies (15 graded credits)
  • developmental units (15 ungraded credits)

Through tutor led classes, group work and research  you will be expected to demonstrate competence in practical biology assessments and tasks.
