Many of our PSP learners work towards functional skills (entry level to level 2) in English, maths and ICT as needed, and gain work-related qualifications. Where appropriate we also offer GCSE English and maths.
Our PSP provision gives the flexibility to look at the subjects we offer, and come to a tailored programme to best meet your needs. This may be only one subject, or a range of subjects resulting in a more substantial timetable. You may join classes with mostly adults, or a dedicated class with other young PSP learners.
Most learners on this programme are those who need an alternative curriculum or environment to the one offered in schools or larger colleges. Learners include:
- children in care
- care leavers
- school leavers who are unsure what to do next
- electively home educated learners aged 14 to 16 who wish to add to their current EHE programme
- 16 to 19 year-olds not in education, employment or training (NEET)
The PSP programme allows you to develop your employability skills, life skills and confidence whilst encouraging progression to further learning, volunteering or employment. Our programmes promote the benefits and value of all learning for physical and mental wellbeing.
