Still time to have your say on specifics of the Chesterfield East-West walk and cycle route

Published: 18 July 2022

There’s still time to have your say on the Chesterfield East-West walking and cycling route.

We’re consulting on:

  • permanently closing Crow Lane to all vehicles except motor cyclists
  • making a longer section of Chatsworth Road 30mph
  • creating a dedicated cycle lane so that action can be taken to stop cars using it or parking on it.

And we’re building a new walking and cycling route in Chesterfield, which completes the link across town from east to west.

Money from the government has been awarded for this scheme and work will start in the coming months.

People can either have their say via our website, by emailing james.powell@derbyshire.gov.uk or by writing to us:

Anyone objecting to any of these 3 proposals is required under The Local Authorities' Traffic Orders (Procedure) (England and Wales) Regulations 1996 to give reasons for their objection. It is also helpful if alternatives for officers to consider are suggested.

The consultation opened on 30 June 2022 and the closing date has been extended to 5 August 2022.
