Ready for a summer of free learning?

Published: 19 March 2021

We know that keeping learning and connecting with others is really important for people’s mental health and is one of the ‘Five Ways to Wellbeing’.

To help support this we are making all our ‘Learning for Leisure’ course tuition free of charge for the summer term.

Summer is a great time to have fun with learning and recharge your wellbeing. Courses are varied with everything from cooking with wild ingredients, virtual lambing, building confidence and recycled crafting through to languages, carer skills and qualifications.

You could learn something new for fun, upskill for a new career or start a new hobby. Many of the courses are online with some being delivered in Covid secure locations. If you haven’t tried online learning before, this summer is the ideal time to give it a go. We are sure you will enjoy the experience and you will receive plenty of support.

Our Cabinet Member for Young People, Councillor Alex Dale said:

“Let’s face it the last year has been tough for many of us and we could all use a wellbeing boost. I’m amazed at the variety of courses on offer, if you’re a Derbyshire resident you can try something completely different, for free!”

Brochures for the summer term are due to go online from Monday 22 March and bookings can be made from 9am on that day.
