Published: 5 February 2020

To mark National Apprenticeship Week (3 to 9 February) our Cabinet Member for Corporate Services, Councillor Angelique Foster, has been out and about to meet one of our apprentices.

Councillor Foster went to meet apprentice road worker Josh Neal at his depot at Chesterfield. Josh joined the council last September on an 18 month long apprenticeship.

Councillor Foster said:

“Over the past three years we’ve taken on over nearly 300 apprentices in a wide range of different occupations. It has been great to be able to give so many young people an opportunity to get on the career ladder.

“Apprenticeships offer a real chance to get hands on experience and valuable qualifications at the same time and I’d recommend them to anyone wanting to get on in life.”

We will be advertising a range of different apprenticeships later this year. To find out more, take a look at our apprenticeships information to sign up to receive an email when the apprenticeships are available.
