Catering team makes finals for Apse Performance Awards

Published: 27 May 2021

Our catering service has been shortlisted for both Catering Services Awards by the Association for Public Excellence (APSE).

The APSE Performance awards recognise outstanding local government authorities according to data-benchmarking across the UK. It is from this data that Derbyshire Catering Service has been shortlisted as a finalist for the ‘Most improved performer’ and ‘Best Performer’ awards.

APSE Chief Executive Paul O'Brien said:

"APSE’s data benchmarking service allows local government to recognise those top performing authorities alongside those who are striving to continuously improve their frontline services. Right across local government our member councils are using our benchmarking data to manage reduced budgets, generate income, improve service performance and ultimately protect our local neighbourhoods.”

Our catering service caters for 384 sites across the county and has previously won ‘Most improved performer’ in 2014 and has been a finalist in both categories in past years.

Our Cabinet Member for Education, Councillor Alex Dale said:

“It’s great news that the team have been independently recognised for all the effort and hard work they put in. This last year has been especially challenging for them so to reach the finals in both categories is welcome recognition.”

The winners will be announced on 8 June 2021 at a virtual ceremony.
