Young carers consultation 2015

Status: Results available

Opens: 9 February 2015 - Closes: 4 May 2015

What this consultation is about

Does anyone in your household under the age of 18 help to look after someone else?

From 1 April 2015 a new law says young carers should be offered an assessment of their needs alongside the needs of those they care for.

To improve our responses to, and also the services available to young carers, we asked to hear from young carers themselves and also their parents about:

  • the life of young carers in Derbyshire today
  • the needs of those people looked after by young carers
  • what would most improve young carers lives today
  • how young carers and their parents see the future

We also consulted with parents of young carers.

This consultation is now closed. A report was presented to Cabinet, 28 July 2015, agenda item 15.
