Proposed closure of Southlands Home for Older People in Main Street, Long Eaton

Status: Results available

Opens: 2 June 2014 - Closes: 24 August 2014

What this consultation is about

We’re committed to providing the best possible care and accommodation for older people across the county.

We want to ensure there’s a good mix of high quality accommodation and that people have the support they require as they get older and their needs change.

One of the changes we’re proposing is to close Southlands home for older people on Main Street, Long Eaton.

The care provided by staff at Southlands is of the highest quality, but the building itself does not meet the standards we provide in many of our other, more modern residential homes.

We are now holding a 12-week consultation and in this time you will be able to tell us what you think about our proposal to close Southlands.

This consultation is now closed. A report on the responses to the consultation were presented to Cabinet, 4 November 2014, agenda item eight.
