The Derbyshire Challenge

What this consultation is about

We're facing huge budget cuts and must find ways of saving £157m by 2018.

Reductions in Government grants, inflation and greater demands on areas of our budget for adult social care and vulnerable children mean we must rethink the way we deliver services.

It means some services will remain, some will be run differently but some will have to stop. We don’t want to cut any services but we have no choice.

We want to hear your views about one of the proposed changes to adult care services:

Proposal one

To reduce the number of clients supported at home (floating support by RETHINK, to a maximum of 67 people at any one time from Summer 2015, and then to 52 people from 1 April 2017.

Proposal two

To reduce the length of support received in this floating support service from two years to nine months.

By completing the accompanying questionnaire, you can tell us:

  • your views about these proposals
  • your ideas about other ways we could save money in adult care.
