New primary school at Drakelow Park, near Burton on Trent

Status: Results available

Opens: 12 January 2016 - Closes: 8 February 2016

What this consultation is about

Developers of the Drakelow Park area brought forward a planning application in 2008 for approximately 2,500 dwellings to be built on this site bordering Staffordshire. It is intended that a new primary school will be constructed to serve the community and secondary and post 16 places will be delivered at schools within Burton-on-Trent in Staffordshire.

The terms of the S106 agreement mean that the developer is committed to providing land and funds for the development of a new primary school at the heart of the new Drakelow Park community. The phasing of the payments is such as to allow initial design work for a two form entry school, to be followed by staged payments to reflect the housing delivery and demand for places will be available to parents living on the new development, but will be sensitive to the impact of a new school on other primary schools within the area.

This consultation is now closed. A report was presented to Cabinet 12 July 2016, agenda item number 11.
