What this consultation is about
We're facing huge budget cuts and must find ways of saving £157m by 2018.
Reductions in Government grants, inflation and greater demands on areas of our budget for adult social care and vulnerable children mean we must rethink the way we deliver services.
It means some services will remain, some will be run differently but some will have to stop. We don’t want to cut any services but we have no choice.
We want to hear your views about one of the proposed changes to adult care services:
We are proposing to reduce the funding we supply from £93,600 to £29,120 during 2015/2016. However, the provider, Morning Rise, is proposing to bridge the gap by accessing further housing benefit funding, by asking clients to contribute towards their support costs and by putting in their own funding (a directors loan). In this way the proposal to reduce our funding will not affect the level or quality of the service provided.
We do not have any further details as to the amount that clients may have to contribute as this depends on the outcome of the consultation and on the amount of funding provided through accessing further housing benefit.
By completing the accompanying questionnaire, you can tell us:
- your views about these proposals
- your ideas about other ways we could save money in adult care.
