Status: Results available

Opens: 12 December 2014 - Closes: 20 March 2015

The Derbyshire Challenge

What this consultation is about

We are facing huge budget cuts and must find ways of saving £157m by 2018.

Reductions in Government grants, inflation and greater demands on areas of our budget for adult social care and vulnerable children mean we must re-think the way we deliver services.

It means some services will remain, some will be run differently but some will have to stop. We don’t want to cut any services but we have no choice.

We want to hear your views about one of the proposed changes to adult care services.

We are proposing to reduce the length of support received in the floating support service from two years to nine months. The service supports clients with identified housing-related support needs for up to two years to maintain their tenancy, gain independent living skills and clients seeking tenancies are supported to access appropriate accommodation.

By completing the accompanying questionnaire, you can tell us:

  • your views about these proposals
  • your ideas about other ways we could save money in adult care.

Further information

To help you to understand the proposals we have written a range of fact sheets. You can also read the cabinet paper from the Cabinet meeting on 21 January 2014 which details all the proposed changes.
