Education centre at Derbyshire waste treatment centre

Status: Closed

Opens: 1 December 2016 - Closes: 14 February 2017

What this consultation is about

A new waste treatment centre is currently being built in Sinfin, Derby, under the waste contract we share with Derby City Council, to deal with household waste that can’t or hasn’t been recycled by residents. The centre will take out metals and plastics and will use the remaining waste to generate electricity.

There will be a dedicated education centre (with outdoor space) which will provide free interactive educational sessions on a range of topics for schools to choose. We're aiming for the centre to provide an inspiring and immersive experience while being educational.

We're asking Derbyshire schools to let us know what they think of the proposals. We're very keen to get honest opinions and make the centre a great resource for them.

This consultation is directly with schools - Key Stage 2, Key Stage 3 and Eco School coordinators.
