What this consultation is about
We're facing budget pressures as never before and need to save £157m by 2018.
We have no choice other than to rethink our services and priorities. We are putting our own house in order by inspecting every penny spent, reviewing senior management and selling redundant land and buildings but these savings alone will not be enough. There is no doubt that some services people rely on will have to stop. Many of our services will remain but will need to be run differently.
We've drawn up our new Council Plan which sets out the way we will work and the services we will deliver over the next four years.
A report was presented to Cabinet, 28 January 2014, agenda item nine.
