Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) History Month is an annual event that celebrates the lives of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people - acknowledging their role in history, culture and society.
LGBT History Month plays an important role in raising awareness of the prejudice and discrimination that lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people still face in their everyday lives, and in helping to break down barriers to equality of opportunity.
LGBT History month takes place in February each year and is celebrated around the UK and the world. A range of events are organised each year in Derbyshire to celebrate LGBT History Month.
In previous years we have hosted events and information stalls to promote LGBT History Month and to raise awareness of how life has changed over the years for LGBT people in the UK.
