Financial regulations and procedures apply to all members and employees in the work they do for the council.
In any organisation it is important to ensure financial administration procedures are in place.
At Derbyshire County Council, the chief executive has overall responsibility for the management and control of all resources which includes money, property and other council assets.
The director of finance has legal responsibilities for the financial administration of the councils' affairs. He is also responsible for determining the procedures and systems to achieve this.
School finances are dealt with by separate regulations under Local Management of Schools(LMS)
