Citizenship ceremonies are to celebrate the significance of becoming a British citizen and to welcome the new citizen into their community.
If a citizenship ceremony is to take place it must be within three months of the applicant being informed that their application for citizenship has been successful.
Standard group ceremonies are held at County Hall in Matlock every two months.
Alternatively, applicants may choose to have an individual ceremony in either one of the county's approved premises or a register office. Extra fees do apply for individual ceremonies.
Prospective citizens should see the Home Office information on citizenship (opens in a new window) or tel: 01246 234754.
