National Workplace Wellbeing Charter
The Workplace Wellbeing Charter is an opportunity for employers to show their commitment to the health and wellbeing of their workforce.
It's a national award that recognises and celebrates the positive way in which workplaces are working towards improving the health and wellbeing of their business and employees.
The charter involves:
- Using a self-assessment to work towards a set of nationally agreed standards.
- Developing an action plan for future change.
- Working and consulting with staff to implement change and improvement.
There are three levels which organisations can work towards. Some, or all, will be relevant to you depending on the size and direction of your organisation.
The three levels are Commitment, Achievement and Excellence.
There are no time restrictions to completing the charter and you can chose to focus on a single area to start with and then work towards the others.
We can help you work through the charter and focus on specific areas of need. We can also provide you with a range of tools, support and guidance through the whole process.
The benefits to your workplace
Organisations of all sizes can use the charter.
Lots of workplaces now recognise that that a healthy, energised and motivated team will lead to a better performing business.
Having a healthy workforce can reduce sickness absence, lower staff turnover and boost productivity.
The Workplace Wellbeing Charter gives employers an easy and clear guide on how to make workplaces a supportive and productive environment in which employees can flourish.
It's a framework that helps you assess exactly what your current situation is.
It can then help you develop some key health and wellbeing priorities and actions to help your organisation become a more productive and healthier workplace.
You might want to be formally assessed against the national standards and we can help you do this.
It's a simple process that involves gathering a portfolio of evidence to show that you meet the standard and you'll also need to complete an assessment. An onsite visit of your premises will also take place.
