Workforce Extra
All our employees and foster carers can join our free staff discount scheme called Workforce Extra.
You can get great savings on your shopping on the high street, at supermarkets and when you shop online. You'll be able to take advantage of more than 2,000 offers.
During early 2012 we will also be launching Workforce Extra discounts at local independent shops and services.
Workforce Extra is completely free to join and you could save hundreds of pounds a year.
For the latest news about Workforce Extra discounts make sure you read your copy of Workforce, our staff magazine, every month.
Who can join Workforce Extra?
If you are directly employed by the council (full or part-time, fixed term or relief), a council foster carer or an elected member, you can join Workforce Extra.
You can join if you are based at a school but are directly employed by County Catering or Property Services. Please note that people who are directly employed by a school are not eligible to join Workforce Extra.
Using Workforce Extra at work
The usual rules for using internet, email and telephones at work apply to Workforce Extra.
You can use Workforce Extra on your work computer but you must do this in your own time, at lunchtime or during other recorded breaks or before or after your working day.
All council computers may be shared with others and information is stored locally on your computer. This could put your financial or personal data at risk. For this reason you are advised not to make online payments on a work computer.
If you do use a work computer to buy online the council will not accept liability for the security of any personal information you provide.
You should use your own personal email address for Workforce Extra rather than a @derbyshire.gov.uk address.
You should not use a council phone to call the Workforce Extra helpline.
How to register
Please follow these instructions carefully to register for Workforce Extra.
Go to the Workforce Extra (opens in a new window) website. Then click on the 'register now' button and follow the instructions.
When you are asked for your employee number enter it exactly as it appears at the top of your payslip under your name. It will be between two and eight digits long.
It is very important that you enter your employee number exactly as it is shown under your name on your payslip. If you don't, Workforce Extra will not recognise you and you will not be able to log in.
The number on your payslip may not be the same as the employee number you use at work − for example for accessing computer systems.
Foster carers should use their vendor number in place of an employee number.
If you have any problems registering please contact the Workforce Extra Helpdesk on 0845 299 0908 (Monday - Friday 8am to 8pm, and Saturday and Sunday 10am - 4pm) or email workforcextra@derbyshire.gov.uk
