Apprenticeships
We're creating 1,000 apprenticeships by 2016 in one of our biggest ever recruitment drives of young people.
Two schemes are running side by side to create 500 placements within the county council and support another 500 with local businesses.
Derbyshire County Council apprenticeships
Last year we took on more than 100 apprentices at a variety of locations across the county. This year we are offering placements again.
We have the following placements available:
- Business administration, based in Matlock
These placements will start in June.
You can apply for them now here:

In June, we'll be announcing more placements with a September start date, so watch this space.
Apprenticeship Grants for Employers
Businesses can apply for an Apprenticeship Grant for Employers (AGE) of £2,500 towards the employment costs of an apprentice.
Already 200 Derbyshire businesses have taken on an apprentice from the first round of AGE grants.
Now we've teamed up with the National Apprenticeship Service for phase two of the scheme − and are offering a further 300 grants of £2,500 to support Derbyshire businesses take on apprentices.
Grants are available to businesses with up to 1,000 employees to support them to take on an apprentice aged 16-24 years-old.
