Funding Strategy Statement
We are the administering authority for the Local Government Pension Scheme in Derbyshire and we are required, by The Local Government Pension Scheme Regulations 2008, to have a Funding Strategy Statement (FSS).The purpose of the FSS is:
To establish a clear and transparent strategy for the Pension Fund that identifies how employers' pension liabilities are best met in the future.
To support the regulatory requirement to maintain as nearly constant employer contribution rates as possible.
To take a prudent longer-term view of funding the liabilities.
The FSS was approved by the Pensions Committee on 28 February 2011. It will be revised whenever there is a material change in either the policy on the matters set out in the FSS or the Statement of Investment Principles.
