New Deal employment is just one of a range of initiatives within Derbyshire County Council which offers real employment opportunities to unemployed people to help them get back into work.

Who is this service for?

A wide range of full and part-time employment opportunities are offered through the council's weekly vacancy bulletin, available in libraries, job centres and on the internet. New Deal jobs within the council offer real wages, development and training support. The council has a policy of encouraging unemployed people to apply for jobs within the organisation, and works closely with Jobcentre Plus and other local employment and training organisations to provide job opportunities. Many New Deal employees have stayed with the council, having completed an initial six months of employment.
