Information relating to works by other agencies including water and gas suppliers on Derbyshire's road network is available via the ELGIN system which covers the whole of the East Midlands Region.
We are responsible for monitoring and coordinating the work on the public highway; to ensure public safety and reduce congestion to all users of roads.
To view a map showing the location of current and future planned works, please visit Derbyshire Roadworks (opens in a new window) (data provided by roadworks.org).
Here you will be able to:
search for current and future works in and around your area
view details of planned road works including dates, severity of impact and who is responsible
sign up for email and text message alerts to receive notification of future works in your area.
If the location selected has roadworks on it, then a red triangle will appear on the map in the screen. Click on the red triangle and details of the works will appear in an information window.
We work closely with all parties to ensure that any works necessary are scheduled to keep disruption to an absolute minimum.
Most work is planned well in advance but this is not always possible, for example, when we are responding to an emergency or a fault that requires immediate attention. When this happens, our priority is to make a road safe as quickly as possible and this information may not always be immediately available.
Road Closure Licenses
There are many reasons why a temporary traffic restriction or road closure may be needed.
Any works on the public highway involving either a road closure or for traffic to be restricted will require a Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) to ensure works on the public highway are safely carried out.
If you cannot find the information you need on roadworks, please Call Derbyshire on 08 456 058 058.
Apply for a road closure and/or temporary traffic signal licence.
