Gritting routes and snow related road closures
Find out if your road is on a gritting route and when it was last gritted.
Our gritter drivers will report any problems they find on their routes. This includes roads that are closed or can't be gritted due to snow or other obstructions such as roadworks or parked cars.
During periods of very bad weather we may not be able to grit all routes as planned. Or we may find that where we've started gritting a route we are unable to continue.
The map doesn't include information about gritting of trunk routes, such as motorways and dual carriageways, which are the responsibility of the Highways Agency (opens in a new window). It doesn't include footpaths or cycle routes.
