Latest update

Our latest information. Last updated at 10pm on Wednesday 28 January.

Snow has caused a number of road closures in the north of the county.

Police have advised the closure of:

  • Winnats Pass, Castleton
  • Rushup Edge, between Castleton and Chapel-en-le-Frith
  • A53 Axe Edge
  • A628 Woodhead Pass (operated by the Highways Agency)
  • A6024 Holme Moss at Crowden
  • Torside (Glossop to Woodhead Pass)
  • A57 Snake Pass

Our gritting teams are currently out re-treating primary networks on the snow affected high ground. The full primary and secondary networks were treated earlier today.
