Transport & roads
Here you can find the details relevant to highway searches.
A Local Land Charges Search form Con29R and Con29O may be submitted by a solicitor to the relevant district/borough council as part of a property conveyance process.
For guidance on the local councils in Derbyshire and contact details to which you submit the above forms please view or download the ‘Location and Land Charges Contact Details’ document from the related documents section at the bottom of this page.
We provide highway responses to the district/borough councils, who collate the information and complete the Con29R and Con29O forms.
We have a dedicated team who are trained to interpret the highway records and are in constant contact with those responsible for any new proposals that may have an impact on a highways search, so only the most up to date information is provided.
A recent move towards electronic exchange of information between us and the district/borough councils provides for same day return, allowing the district/borough to improve their service to you.
Clarification of information provided by us will not incur further charges.
Personal search
We also respond to personal searches on highway matters for which a fee is applicable. Go to the related documents section and click on the required form/forms.
Responses will only be given when payment has been received.
Fees may be paid online, click on ‘Instructions to pay online’ in the related documents section at the bottom of this page, or by cheque made payable to Derbyshire County Council.
Please provide a plan with your request which may be emailed, faxed or posted.
Please note the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) recently issued guidance on Property Searches on 16 July 2009.
The ICO has issued this as guidance only.
We are reviewing the current position pending further sector-based Counsels' opinions and any appeal decisions.
In the interim there is no change to the current practice, and our charges continue to apply
