Derbyshire highways laboratory
The Derbyshire highways laboratory provides a service to the construction industry.The laboratory maintains an extensive range of modern testing facilities at Ambergate for the analysis of materials used in the civil engineering and building construction industries.
A site investigation service is also available together with a comprehensive soil testing capability.
On-site testing can also be undertaken and work has been carried out for many other organisations including statutory undertakers, surfacing contractors, private developers, builders and consulting engineers.
It is accredited by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) for both laboratory and on-site testing in accordance with International Standard ISO/IEC 17025. Details of these tests are shown in the Accreditation Schedules (opens in a new window).
UKAS is the sole accreditation body recognised by government to assess, against internationally recognised standards, organisations that provide certification, testing, inspection and calibration services. Accreditation by UKAS demonstrates the competence, impartiality and performance capability of these evaluators.
