Railcards (discount cards for regular train users)

Railcards are available to certain categories of people, giving discounts on most types of train ticket. This page summarises the types available.

Young Person's Railcard
Anyone aged between 16 and 25 (or mature students 26 or over and in full-time education) can buy a Young Person's Railcard which saves one third off most Standard ticket types.

Senior Railcard
  
Anyone who is 60 or over can buy a Senior Railcard which will save one third off most First Class and Standard ticket types.

Family Railcard 
This card is suitable for small groups of adults and children travelling together. Up to 4 adults and 4 children can travel on one card.

Disabled Person's Railcard 
Some disabled people are able to buy Disabled Persons' Railcards, giving one-third off First and Standard Class tickets for the holder and an adult companion.  For details please refer to the 'Rail Travel for Disabled Passengers' booklet, available from Associations for the Disabled, most Public Reference Libraries and Citizen Advice Bureaux.
