Gold Card travel scheme

Gold Card is the travel pass and discount card for Derbyshire residents over 60 or with a disability.

Residents of Derbyshire or the city of Derby who are 60 or over or have certain disabilities can apply for a Gold Card. Gold Card gives free travel on local bus services between 9:30am and 11pm on Mondays to Fridays, and at any time on Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays, as well as half-fare travel on local trains.

Using your Gold Card on buses
Gold Cards are valid on every local bus service in England, except for long distance express coach services, coach tours, special excursions and some late-night services on Fridays and Saturdays. These late-night services are called ‘premium-rate’ services and Gold Cards are only accepted up to 11pm. The ‘premium-rate’ services include services 6·3, 9·2, H1 and X38, the ‘Red Arrow’ between Nottingham and Derby, and the ‘Mickleover’, ‘Harlequin’, ‘Spondon Flyer’ and ‘llkeston Flyer’ buses.

Using your Gold Card on trains
With a Derbyshire Gold Card you can also travel at half fare on local trains, at any time. The concession is available on journeys within Derbyshire, and also to Sheffield, Nottingham, Burton, Uttoxeter and Manchester (and to intermediate stations on these lines) as long as one end of your journey is in Derbyshire.
In addition, on the Robin Hood Line trains between Worksop and Nottingham you can use your Gold Card for half-fare travel between any two stations on the line, even if your journey doesn't start or finish in Derbyshire.

Other benefits
Gold Card is also your library card, and entitles you to discounts from hundreds of businesses and services around the county!
