Amber Valley Community Transport

Amber Valley Community Transport is based in Ripley, and provides transport for people with disabilities, elderly people and community groups within Amber Valleyand parts of West Derbyshire. 

The organisation currently operates 14 minibuses, from 4 seats upwards.  Each has low side step entrances and a rear passenger lift or ramp, allowing carriage of between 1 and 4 wheelchair passengers, depending on vehicle size.

Dial-a-Bus 
The scheme operates a Dial-a-Bus service into Ripley, Alfreton, Heanor, Wirksworth, Matlock and Belper town centres.  Dial-a-Bus is a bus service specifically for people who are unable to use conventional public transport. The minibus picks up passengers from home and takes them into town for shopping, meeting friends, visiting the library, optician or any other purpose.

Ripley service:  This runs into Ripley town centre from Ambergate, Crich, Fritchley, Heage, Pentrich, Swanwick, Codnor, Denby, Kilburn, Horsley, Horsley Woodhouse and Ripley itself.
 
Alfreton service:  This runs into Alfreton town centre from Somercotes, Leabrooks, Riddings, Ironville, South Normanton, Blackwell, Newton, Morton, Stonebroom, Higham, Shirland, Wessington, Brackenfield, Tibshelf, Pilsley, South Wingfield, Pentrich, Swanwick and Alfreton itself.
 
Belper service:  This runs into Belper town centre from Bargate, Holbrook, Milford, Makeney, Duffield, Hazelwood, Broadholme, Ridgeway, Ambergate, Nether Heage, Heage, Upper Hartshay, Alderwasley, Whatstandwell, Crich, Fritchley, Bullbridge, Sawmills, Ladygrove, Buckland Hollow, Lower Hartshay and Belper itself.
 
Heanor service:  This runs into Heanor market place from Codnor, Loscoe, Aldercar, Langley Mill, Mapperley village, Shipley, Marlpool, Horsley Woodhouse, Smalley and Heanor itself.
 
These services operate from each area at least once a week on a rota basis; times vary so please check with the office. The fares are subsidised by Derbyshire County Council. 
 
Amber Valley Community Transport also serves Wirksworth and Matlock

Dial-a-Ride
Amber Valley Community Transport offer a limited Dial-a-Ride service, that is, an individual journey where destination and times are decided by the passenger. Costs are about the same as taxi rates, but it is the long term aim to provide an individual service at reasonable prices.
