Resources - 'This is me' pack

The Derbyshire County Council Youth Forum ‘This is me’ campaign is accompanied by a resource pack.
Ilkeston School with teaching pack

It’s suitable for use in all youth work settings, but specifically designed for Citizenship lessons in secondary schools (Key Stage 3).

The pack asks young people to explore the concept of stereotyping and look at its effects on them, their friends and the community they live in.

It provides students with the chance to look at posters of the Youth Forum and design their own ‘This is me’ campaign poster, write a campaign plan for promoting the contribution young people make to life in Derbyshire, explore why first impressions can be wrong and write a letter to either their local MP or a newspaper in order to tackle negative stereotypes.

Containing two one hour lessons, a series of extension tasks and resource sheets, the ‘This is me’ resource pack is available until March 2008 when the campaign ends.

If you would like to find out more information or request a pack please contact Joanne Ash, assistant communications officer:
