Children's services courses
A wide range of courses are available from our Children's Training directory which deal with the issues arising from the provision of services to children and families.
Who we are
There is a broad range of professional expertise within the team and some team members have lead areas of responsibility for children's social care, safeguarding, vulnerable children and substance misuse.
What we do
We provide in-house training for staff who work with children and younger adults and this remains a primary function. However over the past three years we have tried to open up training opportunities to a multi agency audience recognising the benefits of shared learning.
- We provide a programme of advertised training courses each year from April until the end of March.
- We deliver on and commission Post Qualifying training for social workers working with children and families.
- We provide mentoring support to staff on Post Qualifying training and some NVQ qualifications.
All of the children's residential units in the county have a named trainer link to provide some on site training.
We aim to respond positively to training referrals from any of the private, voluntary and independent sectors and either signpost to available training or meet the need from within the team if possible.
For further information you can view details about courses on offer and course dates and availablility by using our class search facility.
When you have found the training that suits your needs, please complete a course application form to apply for a place, and return to the course programme administrator.
