Home Start Amber Valley

Home Start Amber Valley held a presentation ceremony to mark the end of the recent 10 week Volunteer Preparation course. The course covers all aspects of home visiting including values and attitudes, confidentiality, commitment, child protection, domestic violence, post-natal depression, behavioural problems in under 5's and community networks.

Certificates were presented by Matt Ford, Voluntary, Community and Independent (VCI) co-ordinator. 

These new parent volunteers will be matched with a family in the Amber Valley area who has at least one child under 5 and who is going through a stressful time.

The volunteer will visit the family at home on a weekly basis to offer confidential and non-judgemental emotional and practical support.
