Other Plans

The Derbyshire Children and Young People's Plan is the overarching plan for all services provided in Derbyshire to children and young people.

However much of the detailed work is undertaken by a variety of agencies and partnerships who will produce their own more detailed business plans. These plans will all be working to the objectives identified in the Children and Young People's Plan.

Children and Younger Adults Department Service Plan (2006 − 2009) - 2008 Refresh

The 2008 refresh of the CAYA Service Plan was approved by Cabinet on 1 April.

The plan sets out how the department will improve outcomes for children and young people during 2008 − 2009.

Managers will brief members of staff from CAYA and partner agencies during May 2008.

Key priorities for 2008/09 will include:

  • Provision for children and young people with learning difficulties and/or disabilities

  • Support and challenge to families

  • Improving quality through the development of a quality assurance and evaluation framework

  • Narrowing the gap in attainment and attendance, reducing exclusions and offending, and promoting achievement for all

  • Provision for 11-19 year olds

  • Reducing health inequalities, in particular tackling obesity and reducing teenage pregnancy.
