The day services at Meadow View were opened in June 2016, providing support for people with dementia and mental health needs, in Matlock and the surrounding villages.
The day centre can accommodate up to 20 people and our team of skilled staff support people with different needs, from minimal supervision through to more intensive, regular personal care in a person centred approach.
We work in partnership with other care service providers to deliver personalised support to help clients maintain their independence and remain part of their community. We provide carers with the support they need to have some time to themselves if they need it.
We create activities based on personal support plans and monitor and review progress to ensure we meet the clients needs.
Depending on assessment criteria, community transport can be arranged to collect and return clients home from the centre.
We provide a 2-course suitable meal in the café area, where clients can enjoy their meal while taking in the views of the meadows and Peak Rail.
We have fully adapted toilet facilities and a range of areas where activities take place.
Group information
We provide specialist dementia groups which are run by workers who have a wealth of experience in caring for individuals living with dementia.
Each group has a co-ordinator responsible for organising activities to help stimulate physical and mental skills. These include chair-based exercises, quizzes (musical and general knowledge), orientation sessions, local history, current affairs, dancing, baking, crafts, and sing-along.
The groups run from 10am until 3pm on Tuesdays to Fridays.
Outreach groups
Visioncall optical service available to the community. Contact Visioncall and they will visit you in your own home.
Age UK offers a community podiatry team to the community.
Making Space meet at the beginning of each month. Please ask for dates from reception.
Memory clinic. Please ask for dates from reception.
Opening times
The day centre operates 4 days per week and is open from 9am until 5pm.
