We have got a number of events happening throughout the year across Derbyshire to celebrate the National Year of Reading.

Themed Internet Taster Sessions at Chesterfield Library

Participants will have a sheet of websites to explore linked to the National Year of Reading theme for that month.
Sessions are free but booking is essential.

To book call Chesterfield Library on 01246 209292 - places are limited to four people per session. Names will be taken as reserves in case of cancellations.

Murder Mystery evening at Brimington Library

An event for crime fiction fans to solve a murder plot themselves, the scene being set by local chesterfield publisher “Cr?me de la Crime”.

The theme is ‘Screen Reads’ in partnership with the Voices and Volumes Club.
5 November at 2pm at Sharpes Pottery, Swadlincote
Voices and Volumes Club in Association with ‘The Magic Attic’. Speaker Sally Griffith will talk about the newly re-opened QUAD in Derby and cinema programming.

Join Derbyshire Poet Laureates past and present, Cathy Grindrod and River Wolton, and Ann Atkinson, Peak Poet Laureate as they share a selection of their favourite poems and chat about their work as laureates.
This will be a free event but places can be reserved via Buxton library call 01298 25331. 

Poetry Café Poetry activities and refreshments.
Bring along your favourite poem to share over a coffee and cake, or dip into the poetry bran tub.
Suitable for all ages.
