Doveholes plasterer is 500th Trusted Trader

1 July 2009

Plasterer Paul Rumbellow of Dove Holes, Buxton, has become the 500th member of Derbyshire County Council’s Trusted Trader scheme.

Trusted Trader was set up by the council in November 2008 to help local people find reliable local traders. And now 500 traders in Derbyshire have been accepted as members. There’s every sort of trader on the list from plumbers, electricians, painters and roofers to glaziers, joiners, drain cleaners and more.

Councillor Carol Hart, Derbyshire County Council’s Cabinet Member for Communities, said: “It’s fantastic to make this important milestone and I’m delighted to welcome Paul to Trusted Trader.”

“We set up Trusted Trader to give local people confidence in finding someone that they can rely on.”

Paul Rumbellow, of Paul Rumbellow Plastering, said: “There are rogue traders about in Derbyshire so something like Trusted Trader will definitely help people make better choices and give them more confidence.

“I have talked to other plasterers and electricians and told them about the scheme and they are very interested in joining. I am very pleased to be a member.”

Finding a Trusted Trader is easy and free. Either Call Derbyshire on 08456 058 058 or visit www.derbyshire.gov.uk/trustedtrader.

Businesses who are Trusted Traders will have been carefully checked out by the council’s trading standards team. Among the things we look for are records of county court judgements or any previous complaints against a company. Businesses pay a small fee to join. Traders have to be based in Derbyshire or do half their work in the county to make the list.
