Young people are being given the chance to have their say on Derbyshire County Council’s youth service.
The consultation day will take place at Rykneld Square in Chesterfield this Saturday (2) at 11am until 3pm.
The council’s youth service will be asking young people what they think of services aimed at them, how they think services could be improved and what their views are around issues which affect them.
The event will also include the chance for people to have a go on a climbing wall, try their hand at arts and crafts and learn circus skills.
Youth workers will also be on hand to provide information to anyone who has questions about the youth service.
Councillor Bob Janes, Derbyshire County Council’s cabinet member for cultural services, said he hoped people would take advantage of the opportunity to hear at first hand from staff what services are open to them.
He said: “It is important that young people have the opportunity to shape the way all services that affect them are provided in Derbyshire and this event is an ideal way of doing that.
“The views and opinions we receive at the event will help us to make decisions on funding priorities and to ensure our services are more relevant to young people.”
Young people can contact the youth service directly on youth.service@derbyshire.gov.uk.
