Free parenting classes are once again on offer throughout the county thanks to an ongoing scheme being run by Derbyshire County Council.
Earlier this year Derbyshire was chosen as one of six local authorities in the country to pilot an interactive style of parenting classes designed to meet individual family needs.
Sessions focused on helping parents who want assistance with everyday parenting skills, in addition to working with families where there are children with more challenging behaviour.
The project initially helped parents with children aged two to eight years and is now being rolled out to families with children aged eight to 13.
The 12-week Positive Parents courses look at issues like play, praise and rewards, effective limit setting and handling misbehaviour.
Crèche facilities and help with transport are available to enable parents to attend the classes.
Classes for parents of children aged two to eight will be held at:

Birdholme Children’s Centre, Chesterfield, Thursdays from 1pm to 3pm starting September 27.
Clowne Infant and Nursery School, Clowne, Tuesdays from 12.45pm to 2.45pm starting September 25
Anthony Bek Primary School, Shirebrook, Wednesdays from 1pm to 3pm starting September 26
Derbyshire Dales Christian Centre, Wirksworth, Thursdays from 7pm to 9pm starting on September 27.
Cotmanhay Infant School, Cotmanhay, Thursdays from 9am to 11.15am starting on September 27.
Trinity Methodist Church, Long Eaton, Wednesdays from 1pm to 3pm starting on September 26.
Woodville Children’s Centre, Woodville, Tuesdays from 1pm to 3pm starting September 25.

St Mark’s Church, Brampton, Fridays from 9.30am to 11.30am starting September 21

Leyfield House, Staveley, Mondays from 6.30pm to 8.30pm starting October 1
Dallimore Primary School, Kirk Hallam, Wednesdays from 1pm to 3pm starting on September 19
Ironville Children’s Centre, Ironville, Tuesdays from 9.30am to 11.30am starting September 18
John Port School, Etwall, Thursdays from 6.30pm to 8.30pm starting September 19.
Councillor Anne Western, Derbyshire County Council’s cabinet member for children’s services, said: "The classes that have run so far have proved very successful and we are delighted to now be able to offer them for parents of children aged eight to 13 as well.
"The classes help parents cope with day to day issues that crop up when dealing with children as well as meeting other parents in a supportive environment."
