Mobile libraries

There are 2 mobile libraries: one based at Buxton (North) and one based at Long Eaton (South). We serve about 150 communities across the county where there's no library building. These places are visited once every 4 weeks.

Mobile library vans offer a range of books to browse. You can also request an item from any Derbyshire library to collect at your nearest stop.

Books borrowed from a mobile library will be loaned for 4 weeks, and can be renewed online.

If you're not a member of Derbyshire Libraries yet, you can join in our vans - just bring some ID which includes your address and we'll sign you up

Disabled access

Our mobile libraries have a small step.

If you have any questions about accessibility, contact us and we'll be very happy to help.

If mobile libraries aren't suitable for you, check out our home library service.
