Derbyshire Record Office holds a vast collection of original archive material relating to Derby and Derbyshire which is accessible in our search room in Matlock. We also offer a range of other services described below.
You can take your own photographs of the documents you view in the record office search room. You can purchase a daily or an annual licence, entitling you to photograph documents for this period. An annual licence may also be purchased for use by groups. See our photography service for more information.
Copying and Research service
Our combined copying and research service can help you obtain copies of documents from our collections − and where consultation of original records is required, our fully trained staff can undertake research on your behalf. We answer enquiries about the content and extent of our collections without charge.
Services for depositors
We accept a wide range of archive collections for storage, preservation and public access. See our depositors page to find out more about our facilities and about transferring your records to us.
