Poor Law Removal Orders

Removal Orders can be searched by entering the surname, date, or place of interest in the boxes below and ‘submitting’ the search. You can search for a surname or you can search a number of fields at the same time (i.e. search for John Smith, in 1765, removed from Bolsover). If you are unsure of the spelling of any names you can type in the first two or three letters in the name and the search engine will display all the possibilities: for example searching for ‘SMI’ in the surname field would retrieve records for Smith, Smithers, Smithson etc.
