Do I need an appointment to visit the Record Office?

If you are undertaking family history research, you should book a microform reader in advance.

You can telephone us on 01629 585347 or email us at record.office@derbyshire.gov.uk. 

This is because almost all parish registers before 1900 are available in microform. There is a self service system for users.  

If you are making a special trip and you want to consult original manuscripts, it is advisable to check that we are open when you intend to come and that the items you wish to see are available.
