Location

You can find the library in County Hall, the headquarters of Derbyshire County Council. We are on the left, near the top of Bank Road. This is the road that runs up the hill, from the main roundabout in the centre of town. You will find us through the alley just above the car park entrance.  View a map of the area (opens in a new window).

There are bus and rail services into Matlock. If you are coming by car there are plenty of public car parks in the town, but be prepared for a steep walk uphill to get to us. Car parking at County Hall itself is very limited as the car park serves the entire building. There are designated disabled and visitor spaces available but you do need to get here early.  View County Hall's location and a plan of the car park in the related documents section.

Access for disabled people

There are designated disabled parking spaces in the main car park. These operate on a 'first come first served' basis. Wheelchair access is up a ramp leading from the car park. A wheelchair-friendly toilet is available. If you will require additional help within the library please let us know beforehand so that we can prepare for your visit.
